Maude Zimmer - grandmother. Born in Iowa, Maude moved to Albert St, in Rochester NY and raised eight children - Bob, Alice, Thelma, Minnie, George (Huck), Russel, Sissy and Fred.

Her husband William died in May of 1946, two months prior to Bob and Gert Deleo's wedding.

Minnie Deleo, grandmother

1898 - 1997

Minnie's mother died when she was two-years-old. Her father, unable to raise five children on his own, divided up his five daughters, Minnie, Anna (Halligan), Mae (Papka), Berta (Bohm) and Lorinda (Bricks) and sent them to live with different relatives. Minnie lived with her Great Aunt Laurel and Uncle Rudolph (Christine Long's son) who lived at the farmhouse Orleans Country, NY.

In 1939, after the deaths of Aunt Laurel and Uncle Rudolph, Frank, to cover the cost of the taxes, borrowed $1500 from his boss, Gus Bauershmit. Minnie and Frank bought back "the farm" and paid back their debt to Mr. Bauershmit in weekly installments. Mildred and Gertrude, their two daughters, were born at the farmhouse.

After Frank died, Minnie married Bill McAvinney.

Frank and Minnie Deleo are both buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Holley, New York, Orleans County - Section WT DIV 98
